Additional workshops include;
-“Other Sources” on Thursday, March 14 at 7 p.m. This workshop will lead participants through the process of utilizing lesser-known sources to complete and enhance their genealogy and family history research. Records regarding the appointments of U.S. Postmasters, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs BIRLS Death Files, Passports, Passenger Lists and more will be discussed, along with methods for accessing and recording important information.
-“Caring for Family Papers” on Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m. This workshop will lead participants through basic archival preservation techniques and strategies to care for materials at home, including scrapbooks, photographs, newspapers, family bibles and more.
-“Intro to DNA for Genealogy” on Thursday, May 9 at 7 p.m. This workshop will assist participants with getting started with DNA and genealogy. Participants will learn how to interpret DNA results and learn about additional DNA tools and concepts to help solve family mysteries and more.

Those who attend or pre-pay for all four workshops in the series will be able to sign up for a special fifth workshop scheduled for Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Schoharie Free Library. This special fifth installment will allow participants to bring their own family research for a one-on-one session with one of our genealogists. Space for this special workshop is extremely limited and registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Be sure to attend the Thursday, Feb. 14 workshop and ensure your place on the list!
