Independence Day Celebration
The time is 1776 – Independence has been declared. The people of Schohary have been gathered to hear the Declaration of Independence read for the first time. Is everyone happy about it? Through various events and demonstrations, visitors will discover that Independence was not a sure thing. The audience will often be encouraged to join in the programs. Museum admission is $10 adults, $8 seniors & $5 students 5 – 17 years. Outdoor events are free. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn seating for the readings. The schedule will include:
10am – 5pm: Museum and grounds open
10am – 4pm: Sign an oversized copy of the Declaration
Periodic musket demonstrations (between programs)
11:00 am – Political Demonstration at the Liberty Pole
11:30 am – Reading of the Declaration

Flag ceremony
1:00 pm – Flag program: 24 flags of the colonial & Rev War eras
