Musicians of Ma’alwyck Performance
The Schoharie County Historical Society will commemorate the 230th Anniversary of George Washington’s Inauguration as the nation’s first president with a performace by the Musicians of Ma’alwyck on Saturday, June 15 at 7 p.m. at the Schoharie Presbyterian Church.
A popular Capitol Region chamber ensemble, the Musicians of Ma’alwyck will present a program featuring music popular during Washington’s lifetime, as well as those known to be his personal favorites.
The musical performance will be enhanced by the narration of historian and Schoharie County Historical Society Trustee Peter Lindemann, who will share stories about Washington and the early days of the new nation he helped form.
The performance will be preceded by a reception with light food and beverages in the church hall at 6 p.m. Representatives of several area organizations, including the Sons of the American Revolution, the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Schoharie Colonial Heritage Association will join the Schoharie County Historical Society in preserving and promoting the ideals of the nation’s founding.
A donation of $10 per person is suggested to attend the performance.
The Schoharie Presbyterian Church is located at 314 Main Street in the village of Schoharie, NY.
