Schoharie County Historical Society Annual Membership Meeting Scheduled for October 24
The 2021 Schoharie County Historical Society Fall Membership Meeting will be held on Sunday, October 24 at Serious Brewing Company, located at 116 Caverns Road in Howes Cave, NY.
Starting at 5 p.m., those attending are invited to gather for a social hour, when they are encouraged to purchase food from the on-site food truck and taste a wide variety of locally produced beverages which pay homage to Schoharie County’s significant history in hops production.
The business meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and include the election of new members to the Schoharie County Historical Society Board of Trustees, an update on the numerous projects and initiatives underway at the museum from director Melinda McTaggart, and presentations by Bill Felter on the creation of Serious Brewing and Schoharie County Historian Ted Shuart on the history of hops in Schoharie County.
Members and guests are encouraged to bring any photographs, stories, and information they may have in their personal collections which help tell the story of their family histories or experiences with hops in Schoharie County.
In addition to food truck and beverage items available for purchase, light refreshments will be provided.
The Schoharie County Historical Society is in its 132nd year at the Old Stone Fort Museum Complex, publishing the semi-annual “Historical Review” of county history, and organizing lectures and historical events such as Stone Fort Days and the History Fair.
