The White Horse Regent: Gov. Wm Bouck Lecture
David Brooks will present “The White Horse Regent: Gov. Wm Bouck” at the Old Stone Fort in the First Floor Gallery on the 15th of September, 2023 at 7 pm.
The Schoharie County Historical Society is proud to present David Brooks at the Old Stone Fort. Brooks is the Education Director of the Schoharie Crossing State Historic Site and will give a lecture about the life and political career of William Bouck, the only Schoharie County resident who governed the State of New York. Bouck contributed his work from transforming the economic and political spheres during a turbulent time in New York State.
“William Bouck had a reputation across New York State before he became the 13th Governor… His roots in Schoharie County, combined with ardent devotion to civic life, a keen wit and amazing hair propelled his successful career in politics… Though his governorship was limited in time, the scope of his overall impact on the region and state will be explored during this program.” –David Brooks
During this event, guests will have the opportunity to view never before seen artifacts from the Schoharie County Historical Society’s collection, as well as new items on loan that have connections to the Bouck Family. Admissions to the event are by donation.
