DESCRIPTION:Musicians of Ma’alwyck presents Assassins and Villains\, a program of period instrument transcriptions of some of the greatest operatic malefactors\, including Mozart’s Don Giovanni; Rossini’s Othello and Rossini’s Semiramide. Crafted brilliantly for the three instruments (flute\, violin and guitar) enjoy unforgettable melodies and the stories to which they are linked in an incredible historic setting. Musicians of Ma’alwyck is in residence at the Schuyler Mansion\, a New York State Historic Site\, and has performed around the northeast and on National Public Radio. \nThis project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program\, a program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature and administered in Columbia County by the Greene County Council on the Arts dba CREATE Council for the Arts. \nTickets are $15 and are extremely limited!  Click the button below\, stop in\, or give us a call to purchase your tickets.

SUMMARY:Full Moon Cemetery Tour
DESCRIPTION:Historian Pete Lindemann will lead a morning tour of the Old Stone Fort Cemetery. It will begin in the fort itself\, originally a church\, at the first burial – Johannes Schuyler\, the first Dutch minister ordained in America and who – according to historian William Roscoe – is buried beneath the pulpit. The tour will continue to the monument for the incorruptible captor of the traitor Major Andre – thrice-buried David Williams. Other notables include Civil War nurse Catherine Lawrence – said to be the first nurse to give anesthesia – and Ed Scribner\, who designed and built the sound amplifiers for the world’s first open-air talking pictures held first on Main Street\, Schoharie. This is a free event\, but donations are always appreciated!
