Gabby: Hi, my name is Gabrielle Goldswer and I’m going to be talking about a couple memories I have of the Old Stone Fort in Schoharie. One memory is when I was a part of the Girl Scout troop, there was a big Girl Scout gathering here at the Old Stone Fort and there was a pig roast, a lot of activities. And I remember that evening there was a huge lightning storm. And we all had to spend the night in the Dutch Barn.
Another memory I have of the Old Stone Fort is of the Easter Bunny being here every year. But ducks in some kind of petting zoo and during Christmas time Santa and a festival of the trees.
I also have a couple memories of fishing by the fort in the Schoharie Creek and Fox Creek. One spring I caught a 22 inch pike and also collecting clay buttons and fossils around the fort and in the creeks around the fort.
I also have some memories of the Power Authority in Blenheim. Going there on field trips to Lancing Manor. Also there was science programs at the Power Authority in a lot of different festivals and also Mindkill State Park going there with the swimming program and the Schoharie Valley Soccer Club. Also fishing in the reservoir there as well.
A lot of memories of hiking up Vroman’s nose. And a lot of hiking with the Girl Scouts as well during all different… the times of the season in times of the year. Also visiting all the farm stands In the area. We talked with many, many different field trips throughout
Schoharie County when I was young. So goodbye.
