Photo – Father and Daughter fishing

Father and daughter standing next to 7 fish hanging on the side of a house.

Found in the collections at the Old Stone Fort Museum is this photo of Benjamin Smith (1874-1942) and his daughter Hortense (Smith) Henning on a fishing trip in Schoharie County. Benjamin Smith was married to Sophia Bergh (1880-1963). Hortense went on to marry Dr. Wayne Henning, of Iowa.

Written on the back of the photo postcard:

8/13/12

A sample of the Schoharie bass fishing. Caught these the first time out. Just got back from Doris’s. Leaving tomorrow for Lake Champlain.

Ben.
