The Schoharie County Historical Society is beginning work on a Semiquincentennial Commission to ensure that Schoharie County can celebrate the 250th anniversary of the creation of the United States with help from local and state organizations. The first event to kick off these celebrations will be May 4 and 5, 2024, “Loyalty Over Every Other Consideration.” More events for 2025 and beyond are in the works, as we believe that Schoharie County holds an important place in American Revolutionary War history, particularly in 1777 and beyond.
