New Quilt Interactive in the Fort
Be sure to check out our newly added quilt interactive, “Patchwork in Progress,” now open on the second floor of the Fort! This hands-on experience invites visitors of all ages to explore the creativity and craftsmanship behind quilting by designing their own unique quilt patterns using colorful fabric pieces and traditional-inspired layouts. Whether you’re experimenting with bold geometric designs or creating a pattern inspired by historic quilts, the interactive offers a fun and engaging way to connect with an important artistic tradition that has brought communities together for generations.
“Patchwork in Progress” was created to encourage creativity, collaboration, and conversation among visitors while highlighting the history and cultural significance of quilting. Guests can mix and match fabrics, learn about common quilt block patterns, and gain a deeper appreciation for the skill and storytelling woven into every quilt.
A special thank you goes to Up-Stitch for generously donating the fabric materials that made this interactive possible.
